Happy employees are good for the business. Period.
This might sound like common sense, yet so many organizations don’t make Human Resources (HR) a priority, much less implement creative ideas to engage their employees. This is especially true in the PR industry.
In a cut-throat environment well-known for the long hours and over-caffeinated public relations practitioners, it is rare for organizations in this industry to make happy employees a priority. This explains the high turnover rate in PR, especially for agencies.
We are proud to say that The Hoffman Agency breaks the mold.
Our creative efforts to engage fellow Hoffmanites across eight offices globally through social media channels (such as Facebook and Instagram) have been recognized by the HR Excellence 2013 Awards, where we bagged the Silver Award for “Excellence in HR Social Media.” As one of seven finalists chosen for the category, we were up against bigwigs such Royal Plaza on Scotts (a renowned hotel in Singapore) and Hays Recruitment. Not only did we take home the Silver Award, we were the ONLY public relations agency on the list. On an interesting side note, the Gold Award went to our client, Cisco, whose entry we also drafted. (Oh, the irony!)
And since good news comes in pairs, we were also awarded with the Silver Award for “Excellence in Employee Engagement,” the most sought-after award with more than 12 finalists. For this category, judges were looking for an employment engagement strategy that made a difference to an organization’s business and performance. Once again, The Hoffman Agency prevailed, and we managed to beat the likes of Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Ericsson South East Asia and Oceania, Avanade Asia Pte Ltd as well as Royal Plaza on Scotts to take the Silver Award.
Winning both awards further affirms that as a PR agency, success and greatness can be achieved when we have the right priorities. Putting the people at the heart of our agency, we believe this will not only retain the best of talents, but also nurture loyal employees who will go the distance for the company.
